Craft Master – the search for Ireland’s next big export The series is broken down into six shows with the first five shows focusing on glass blowing with Róisín de Buitléar (Ireland’s best known glass artist), ceramics with Colm de Rís (one of Ireland’s biggest exports of pottery), weaving with Beth Moran (a master weaver originally from the States but living on the remote but picturesque Clare Island), metal with blacksmith Michael Budd and wood turning with Glenn Lucas (one of the fastest wood turners in the world. Three apprentices will each week battle it out in their chosen practice to win a place in the final. The final show will crown one of the final five apprentices (one from ceramics, glass blowing, wood turning, textiles and metal) Craft Master 2011 and the lucky winner will be given a stand at Show Case, the international trade show for Irish producers and with the Irish Craft Industry being worth almost half a billion euro annually it’s all to play for.

This brand new six part series follows the adventures of Irish-American writer and comedian Des Bishop as he moves to China for a year in order to learn mandarin and eventually attempt to perform a one-man stand up comedy show for a Chinese audience. There are a couple of problems though - the locals are unaware of the subtleties of western style comedy and are laughing for all the wrong reasons.

Dublin Wives is an Irish reality television programme airing on TV3, set in Dublin. The series follows the lives of five housewives living in the city; Danielle Meagher, Jo Jordan, Lisa Murphy, Roz Flanagan and Virginia Macari, and introduces viewers to their lifestyles, families and homes. The first series followed a similar format to the US franchise The Real Housewives, though it has no connection to that franchise, and was required to make changes amid concerns from NBC. According to the series premise they are "living the dream with handsome husbands, beautiful children, stylish homes and a fabulous wardrobe." The Irish Mail on Sunday described the series as unscripted, but with the scenarios contrived by the producers.

Celebrity Bainisteoir is a prime-time reality programme broadcast by RTÉ and produced by Animo Television/Kite Entertainment. Created by Fiona Looney. During and after its eight-part original run in 2008, the "hugely popular RTÉ Television tournament" was widely mentioned in the media including such newspapers such as An Phoblacht, The Belfast Telegraph, the Evening Echo, the Irish Examiner, the Irish Independent, the Irish News and The Irish Times. During the first series, a pop culture website asked its readers "If you weren’t watching Celebrity Bainisteoir last night, then where were you?" In the wake of the successful first series, the Evening Herald of Dublin reported in September 2008 that RTÉ was seeking out a new set of celebrities for a second series of Celebrity Bainisteoir set to air in summer 2009, and that a Celebrity Bainisteoir special would air during the Christmas season in 2008. The second series began on 22 March 2009.

A two-part documentary series, which depicts life inside Ireland's two female prisons. In Ireland today over four thousand people are in prison and less than two hundred of them are women. This documentary provides viewers a snapshot of prison life in Ireland today and allow us to meet the women who end up serving time in our jails and those who work in them. Produced by Midas Productions, their cameras entered the Dóchas Centre in Dublin's Mountjoy Prison Campus in June 2013 and secured unprecedented access to chart the lives of the prisoners locked up in Ireland's only exclusively female prison. Women prisoners from 18-years-old and above are housed in this medium security, purpose built centre. It is a revealing, frank and true insight into life as a female prisoner in Ireland. You can meet every type of woman in Mountjoy; from the homeless, impoverished, drug addicted repeat offenders to white-collar criminals, drug mules and murderers. This observational documentary shows, through the eyes of the prisoners we meet, the issues facing both them and the prison service. Women serving time for robbery, manslaughter and drug smuggling give us an insight not only into prison life, but also into the lives that lead them to prison and indeed into Irish society today.

On the 28th December,1881, 13 families were evicted from their homes in the village of Carrowmenagh, Co. Donegal. Not able to pay the rent mothers, fathers, children and grandparents were all flung out from their simple cottages or long houses onto the road by agents of the landlord. Some found refuge with relatives locally, others left for America. Evictions like these were common in Ireland from Famine times right up to Independence and even today eviction, losing your home, is still highly emotive and a most traumatic event in anyone's life. The Challenge of 1881 or DÚSHLÁN 1881 - is to bring this history to life. Two families live for 3 days and 3 nights as their ancestors would have lived in the late 19th century. We tell the story of eviction through their experiences. For this series - we have traced descendants of the original evictees and one family - the McLaughlins - return from America to take up this unique challenge to live in the footsteps of their own ancestors. For some of them, it's their first ever visit to Ireland. For all of them it is an emotional reconnection with their family's past. The other family, Muintir John Ghráinne have a shorter journey, travelling only from Rann na Feirste, but nevertheless, they typify the hardy families who were forced onto poorer land, an internal migration which so often has been forgotten. Those made landless and displaced within the country often had to find alternative ways of earning what was a subsistence living. Muintir Uí Ghráinne want to explore their own family history and honour the resilience and ingenuity of their forbears. Ireland's favourite hotelier Francis Brennan, hits the high seas in a new three part series as he puts his hotel experience to the test as he steps into senior roles on a Baltic Cruise. The series will follow Francis as he sails into the Baltic capitals on-board Regal Princess, a Princess Cruises ship. During each hour-long episode he will gain an insight into what life is like for the ship's 1,400 crew members by stepping into the shoes of three of the most senior onboard roles: Maitre 'D, Entertainment Director and Hotel General Manager. Under the watchful eye of each crew member, Francis will see if he has what it takes to give the ship’s guests the holiday of a lifetime. Francis will try and meet a wide range of challenges, from learning first-hand what it takes to be Maitre’ D and ensuring a smooth service in the ship’s seven restaurants and numerous eateries; to arranging on-board activities for guests with the Entertainment Director; to overseeing the entire ship with its 5,000 guests and crew alongside the Hotel General Manager.
