The Late Late Show is Ireland's most popular and prestigious television show and is the longest running chat show in the world. Originally conceived as a short filler programme for the summer schedule in 1962 on the then fledgling Irish broadcaster Telefís Éireann, The Late Late Show has gone on to become an Irish institution and today is still the most popular programme on television in Ireland. Pat Kenny became host of The Late Late Show in September 1999, taking over from Gay Byrne. Gay was the programme's first presenter in 1962, and apart from one season when Frank Hall presented the show while Gay worked with the BBC, it was a continuous run of almost 37 years. Ryan Tubridy hosted The Late Late Show from September 4th 2009.

Claire Byrne Live is a brand new hour-long current affairs TV programme which will broadcast on Monday nights at 10.35pm from January 19th on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now. 10The Brendan Courtney Show 2005
The Brendan Courtney Show is an Irish weekly chat show hosted by Brendan Courtney. It was first broadcast on TV3 on 9 November 2005 and aired for one series until 15 February 2006. The Brendan Courtney Show featured guest interviews and live music from guest music groups and was aimed at a younger audience than its main rivals on RTÉ. The show also contained pranks on an unsuspecting public and was noted for its Graham Norton-like audience participation. The UK's Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton gave her first Irish interview to The Brendan Courtney Show in February 2006.

The new show is called David McWilliams Ireland, and it's based in front of a live studio audience and sees McWilliams discuss the big issues facing Ireland's society and economy today. Don't Feed the Gondolas is an Irish comedy panel show, that ran for four series on Network 2 between 1997 and 2001. The show was hosted by Seán Moncrieff and the longest-serving panellists were Brendan O'Connor and Dara Ó Briain. The name of the show is attributed to a remark made by a Wicklow County Councillor, Jimmy Miley, during a meeting regarding Blessington Lake. When the meeting proposed putting a gondola on the lake, he remarked: "That's all very well, but who's going to feed it?"
