"Kami Histeria" tells the story of five college friends who are part of a band called Kami Histeria.They have just moved into a secluded flat near a jungle in order for them to have their jamming and practice sessions easily. The band decides to ignore the screeching as sounds of owls from the jungle and continue to record their new single. But after the song goes live on YouTube, their lives are forever changed...

Like Ramlee’s film it was co-written by young literary upstart Jamil Sulong (who later became a director). Similar issues around class, wealth and modernity are explored through the tale of a kindly older trishaw driver (Omar Rojik) who adopts Jamilah, an orphan and marries her guardian, offering her a simple but better life (including a very, very long visit the circus). One night, several fishermen are attacked and killed by swordfish. At the coast of Singapore, with his courtiers, the King is also attacked. The Temenggong orders that villagers be used as human shields against the attack. The young son of the King's aide, Hang Nadim, suggests that banana tree trunks be used instead. It works and in return, the King agrees to release his father. However, the sly Temenggong instigates the King against Hang Nadim and his father.

A Hokkien period opera film based on a popular Chinese story about Tang Dynasty General Guo Ziyi’s son, Guo Ai, who rebukes his wife, Princess Sheng Ping, for deliberately missing his father’s birthday celebration because she felt it was beneath her status to attend. The haughty princess complains to her father the emperor, expecting him to exact punishment on Guo Ai for what she regarded as abuse. The wise and benevolent emperor devises a plan to teach both Guo Ai and his daughter a lesson. This is the sole surviving Singapore-made Hokkien (Amoy dialect) film out of only three, and was the first and only Hokkien opera film wholly funded and produced by Singapore or Malaya film companies and talents. It was an unprecedented venture by local arts and cultural groups to document the vernacular Chinese traditional performing arts through cinema. The cast were renowned opera performers from the popular Sin Kee Lin Hokkien Opera Troupe.
