Mariana de Jesus (Paula Neves) was born and raised in a convent. On the outside she is a tomboy. But she loves to dance, escaping in the middle of the night with her friend São (Teresa Tavares) to go clubbing. Years later Álvaro started to take care of the business. Despite the children Pedro and Marta Brandão Salgado (Sara Moniz), the marriage to Helena, an alcoholic, is a disaster. Álvaro has an affair with Andreia Barroso (Vera Alves), the secretary.
