Years later Álvaro started to take care of the business. Despite the children Pedro and Marta Brandão Salgado (Sara Moniz), the marriage to Helena, an alcoholic, is a disaster. Álvaro has an affair with Andreia Barroso (Vera Alves), the secretary.
