The viewer gets an insight into underlying psychological principles such as non-verbal communication, deception and influencing the subconscious. The story begins at the funeral of Agneta Bovenkerk, the wife of widower Piet Bovenkerk. Afterwards, his son Erik and daughter-in-law Catharina "Cath" come home and receive an unexpected visit from the old Bovenkerk. He wants to move in with them now that his wife is dead. Neither of them are happy about that, especially Cath. Piet is a big whiner who is only a burden to her. She's been trying to get him out of the house from day one. Of course that never works. In addition, the old Piet Bovenkerk causes a lot of misery, misery that is laughable for the viewers at home.

In this show the search is started for dance talent. The jury follows the candidates and are extremely critical. The participants give everything and aim for their spot in the spotlights and their ultimate aim: winning this spicy heat and with that the price. Bassie & Adriaan are a former Dutch circus duo who starred in their own television series. Bassie is a ginger-haired red-nosed clown who wears a red tartan-jacket and green trousers; he's fond of cream-cakes, and calls himself "stupid, but not smart". Adriaan is an acrobat in a blue (originally purple) 1970s-style shirt; his philosophy is "Whatever happens, keep smiling". They performed together till the mid-2010s and still enjoy a huge popularity in Netherlands and Belgium.

On Doortje's birthday Lukas is missing, nobody has heard from Lukas for a long time. the relationship between Sjon and Lukas has ended and the pension is not running smoothly. The Amsterdam friends decide to travel to Spain together to help Lukas back in the saddle. Or maybe they are more on the run from their own problems?

The animals play the main role in this series. The animals are the real main characters and the supporting roles are for the caretakers or zoo staff. Decisive for the program is the camera technology, which shows the animals' lives everywhere behind the scenes and out of sight of the audience. We experience the 24-hour feeling within the walls of the zoo, just like the animals themselves. The program is recorded at Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen, the Netherlands.
