Rises and falls of the mafia in Slovakia. The documentary series Mafiáni is based on the books "Mafia in Slovakia", "Mafia in Bratislava" and "Boss of all bosses" by Gustav Murín, depicting organized crime in Slovakia in the 1990s. The project maps the largest mafia groups and in each part represents one key figure of the Slovak underworld. The individual episodes are based on the reconstruction of dramatic moments from the short life of the largest fish in the underworld - they describe the way in which they established themselves in mafia circles and what distinguished them in their efforts to control the environment.
